Research Study Rooms

Faculty and doctorate students can check out 90-day research rooms

Research study rooms are available for a 90-day loan period to all faculty and doctorate students who are within 6 months of preparing for or have completed their oral exams.

Doctoral students must present a letter on OSU letterhead (example) from their department advisor confirming their scheduled oral exam or completion to qualify for a study room. The letter will be accepted at Circulation. The rooms may be shared by two patrons, if requested. Once the qualified student or Faculty member has received notification that a study room is available, the keycard may be picked up at Circulation.

Each research study room is equipped with a table, chair, shelves and a cork board. Wireless access is available in all rooms.

Policies

  • Rooms are in high demand, so renewal is based on availability.
  • The security of your belongings is not guaranteed, even in a locked room. The library is not responsible for personal belongings left in a research room.
  • For safety, electrical appliances are not allowed in the room.
  • Please check out all library materials that will be kept in the room.
  • Keep doors clear of any covering. Please don’t put anything on the wall that creates a hole or leaves residue. Damage charges will apply if necessary.
  • To ensure compliance with these policies, rooms will be inspected once a term. If violations are severe, you may be asked to give up the room.
