Originally produced in 2000 and released in 2001 as a motion picture. Presented as the opening film of the 2001 Internationalen Filmfestspielen Berlin, this documentary shows the razing of structures damaged during wartime and explains the planning, design, and building of the new city center including the German Historical Museum, Potsdamer Platz, the Jewish Museum, Lehrter Central Station, the Reichstag Dome, and the Academy of Arts. Conversations with architects, politicians, city planners, and construction workers give a detailed definition of the entire scope of the project.
