Negroes with Guns is the story of Robert F. Williams, a Civil Rights fighter who dared to advocate armed self-defense against the racist terrorism of the Jim Crow South. This remarkable film tells of the life and times of Rob Williams, a forefather of the Black Power movement and a pioneer in internationalizing the Black American struggle. A dynamic and complex man, Williams played a pivotal role in the movement for respect, dignity and equality for all Americans. Insightful interviews with historian Clayborne Carson, biographer Timothy Tyson, and a first person account by Mabel Williams, Robert's wife and constant collaborator, bring the story to life.

Negroes with Guns is not only an incisive look at an historically erased leader, but also provides thought-provoking insights into Black radicalism and resistance, and serves as a launching pad for the study of Black liberation philosophies.
