The sequel to the zany Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe reteams France's King of Comedy, Pierre Richard, with director Yves Robert. In the first film, violinist Richard became the unwitting pawn of rival factions of international spies and met gorgeous "secret weapon," Darc. The Return of the Tall Blond Man finds Richard and Darc in love on vacation in colorful Rio, and yet again the target of hilarious espionage. Paid assassins, "Prince" and "Charming," are sent to eliminate the Tall Blond, but he manages to bumble through showers of bullets unharmed to the tune of a Bossa Nova record. The whole mad melee culminates in a riotous confrontation between Richard and the agents before an entire orchestra.
