Academy- and Emmy Award-winning producer Arnold Shapiro ("Rescue 911," "Scared Straight!") explores how parents - by their example - influence their children's behavior and life choices in The Children are Watching, a provocative one-hour documentary hosted by Emmy-winning actress Jane Seymour.

This special follows four families who are raising teenagers, and captures candid, often disturbing situations which reveal the direct connection between parents' behavior and the ways their kids are mirroring or reacting to that behavior. These four stories are cautionary tales about parents' actions and inaction, and the subsequent impact on their children:

  • An absentee father struggles with a rage-filled teenager after getting full custody of the son he abandoned years ago...
  • A mother with repressed anger has literally "passed on" angry and violent tendencies to her 14-year-old daughter...
  • A father with a passion for fast cars has unwittingly influenced his 16-year-old son with his own aggressive driving habits...
  • A single mother has inadvertently taught her 17-year-old daughter destructive patterns in male/female relationships...

A must-see for anyone who has ever wondered, "Why does my child act like this?," The Children are Watching reveals the unintentional but often destructive impact of parents' behavior on their children.
