The Holt Economics Videodisc is an engaging video program that puts students in the role of economic decision makers. Each video segment provides an indepth dramatization of an actual case study and provides a decision point to allow students to choose what they think would be the best resolution of the case. Students work through a corresponding activity from this Teacher's Guide to gain more information about the case and to focus on the main issues; then they make their decision. Afterward, the video provides feedback and shows students the actual outcome of the case.
The Holt American Government Videodisc program consists of one double-sided videodiscs a Teacher's Guide. The videodisc contains interactive in-depth dramatizations of eight case studies - one for each unit of the Holt American Government pupil's edition. The videodisc includes closed captioning and Spanish and English audio tracks. In addition to providing activities for all case studies, the Teacher's Guide includes instructions to teachers, student activity guides, and answer keys.
