| This section is comprised of the multitude of medals,
citations, diplomas and other recognitions awarded to Linus
Pauling. Included are the nearly fifty honorary doctorates
received by Pauling during his lifetime. Prominent items include
Pauling's two Nobel medals, the Lenin Peace Prize medal, the
Lomonosov medal and the National Medal of Science. In addition,
correspondence and other background materials related to the
awarding of specific honors has been interfiled where
appropriate.
