7 November 1963
Dear Mamma,
I hope you can unload that Mercedes Benz because I really am going to need the money for my bloody house. It is coming along fairly well, the Builder is somewhat more than a week behind schedule but seems to be coping reasonably well. I am sorry to add to your work at a time when you have so much to do. It seems to me you always have so much to do and are keeping busy rather generally these days.
I had a nice letter from Crellin.
Things are not going very well here, I am rather depressed but I suppose they will get better. My support money did not come through and my two assistants have quit and are leaving. It does not help.
I hope we get to see you this winter. I wish our house were ready so I could invite you there. It probably will not be ready until the beginning of February.
The boys got me a carbon ribbon attachment for my typewriter and I am very pleased with it.
With much love from,
