Dear Liny,
Mama has been asking me whether or not I have written to you about our plans and your plans, and I do not know whether I have or not. She apparently was expecting you to come through Pasadena along about now. Here is some information for you.
Mama and I have decided not to go to Europe early in June, as we had planned, but rather to wait until 14 July. We shall be back on 15 September. We plan to go to England for the Royal Society Tercentenary Celebration, then to Prague and Budapest, probably to Geneva about 10 August, perhaps then onto Montpellier, then to Cambridge, then on 24 August to Moscow, and home on 15 September.
In the meantime, we shall be at home in Pasadena most of the time. This Friday, May 13, we are going to San Francisco, and then, after three or four days in San Francisco and Berkeley, to the ranch. We expect to get home on Sunday 22 May. I have to go east for a couple of days at the end of May, but Mama will stay here. We shall probably leave for Boston and Washington, D. C. about 15 June, getting back on 22 or 23 June. We may well spend some of the time in June and early July at the ranch, but we can adjust it to your plans. Also, Crellin and his family will be living in our house from early June on - I think from about 10 June on.
We have a nice Swedish couple working for us now - old people, about my age. Mama if thus relieved of a lot of work.
Much love to you and Anita and all the children from

Dear Peter,
I am not sure that I have written to you about the change in our plans.
Mama and I have been having a hard time getting our work done. We decided that we would not go to Europe early in June, as planned, but would wait until 15 July. We shall go directly to the Dorchester Hotel, where we have a reservation from 15 to 27 July. On 27 July we shall fly to Prague or to Budapest, for two weeks, one week in each of these two countries. Probably we shall then come back to Geneva, and perhaps visit a little in Southern France. We expect then to come to Cambridge for a few days, including the time of the Symposium that I am to participate in, and probably we shall leave for Moscow on 24 August and then fly directly home, after a stay there. We expect to be home on 15 September.
I hope that everything is going along well with you.
We are eager to see you and Julia and Thomas and the baby.
Mama thinks that I have failed to answer your last letter, which I seem to have lost. If you asked me for some information which you haven't received, please let me know.
Much love from
