Wednesday Noon (Dec. 5, 1956)
Dear Family:
Just a note as I am quite busy. There is no end of work to get done before Xmas vacation. I have been planning to write a long letter for some time, but I guess that everything can be put off until we get home.
First of all we want to thank you very much from the bottom of our united heart for the lovely silver salad fork and spoon. I am at a loss for words to express our appreciation.
Secondly, we are coming home on the tourist flight United Air Lines that arrives at the International airport at three in the afternoon on Saturday, 15 December. We would like very much if you could manage to meet us. However, if you cannot, I suppose that we could take a bus or perhaps talk the Mills' into meeting us. However we would vastly prefer to have you there, if possible. Please let me know right away whether you can or not, as I must make some arrangement and that is only next weekend! That is 3:00 PM on Saturday 15 December. I will send another note to tell you the flight number and other pertinent information.
We found a little apartment, furnished, all utilities provided except oil for the furnace for $45, which seems quite reasonable and it is very nice. It is only a mile from school, quite convenient to shopping the way home afterschool, all in all very satisfactory. For a while I was rather unhappy about the complete lack of suitable places, but luck sailed on us and we are now quite settled and happy.
Well, please forgive the abruptness of this note, I wish that I had the time to write ages.
Love
Crellin and Lucy
