Dear Crellie,
We drove our rented car back to S. F. yesterday morning and took our plane 8.45 to Chicago. Our plane to Detroit (from L.A.) was three hours late so we didn't get here until 1 a.m. this morning, we were tired.
We had fun in Berkeley. The medal is a gold one and the dinner was good. We also had a fine cocktail party before the dinner. The Culvins have two little girls 3½ and 6 - something of a nuisance but not too bad.
We'll have to go to Berkeley again soon. The Daddy is out at Parke Davis and I think I'll go to the Art Museum again. It is an excellent one here in Detroit you remember.
We were lazy this morning and had our breakfast sent to our room. We had to wake up at eight though because the Daddy had to leave at 9.15. I stayed in bed and red [sic] the paper. Do you know that they've ceased fire in the ground forces in Korea? That is [illegible]. No one seems very excited here though.
My finger is still quite sore, but I think that it isn't infected. Aunt Beth and Don came to the dinner. They were so pleased. Perhaps they will come down at Christmas time. That would be fun.
Don asked about you. I don't think he would recognize you. We also saw Fred Stiel at the dinner. He asked about you and said for you to come and see them. Julie is in England.
I guess I would better get dressed now. I'll write again from Princeton.
Did you eat your cookies? I've written to Linda, too, but I don't have another itinerary to send her.
I must write to Peter, also, and to Aunt Elizabeth.
Hugs & kisses,
Mamma
