1 November 1956
Dear Mamma,
Thank you for your letter.
The Home Office has not yet acted on my application to reside here for a further year. I
thought they would agree.
I have not heard from the draft board. All their communications pens through you. I
keep them informed of my status and demand deferment regularly.
The cost via the pole for the family is ~$1110 and via New York - $1054, a saving of
$56, which seems to me not enough to make the trip worthwhile.
I have not checked into the Visa yet. I would much prefer we come together, though the
visa business may be so complicated that Julia will have to arrive by the 30th November, I cannot
come that early.
Thank you for the Audio, the 2nd has arrived.
(XXXOOO)! Love, Peter
