Dear Dr. Lewin:
Four months have gone by since your letter of 30 March reached me, and nearly four months since I last wrote to you, on 16 April.
I am accordingly writing again, to find out whether you have been granted leave of absence from your position in Paris, that will permit you to spend a year in Pasadena with Professor Corey and me.
If you have any questions to ask about the appointment offered you in my letter of 8 March 1956, please let me know.
I may say that we have made considerable progress in our preliminary attack on the problem of determining the structure of crystalline globular proteins and we feel sure that to have you in our laboratory would aid significantly in the work.
