30 November 1953
Dear Peter:
I enclose an order form. Would you take care of this matter for me, by writing a check for 60 shillings, attaching it to the enclosed letter and the form, and mailing off to ENDEAVOUR, North Block, Tenshouse, Milbank, London, S. W. l.
I am having you do this to avoid going to the trouble of getting a draft for 60 shillings, and because of the possibility that the order can't be filled anyway.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon - I think that we shall stop in England for a couple of days, although our plans are still unsettled.
Much love from

Dear John:
I have just written to Meckler to ask him if he was planning to make calculations for the nitrogen molecule similar to those that he has made for oxygen. I have thought that It might be good to ask you the same question, because you might have time for extending your work that he does not know about.
Verner Schomaker and I have been making arrangements to carry out a theoretical treatment of the electronic structure of the normal state of the nitrogen molecule, to see if we could not answer the question as to the choice between the alternative experimental values for this molecule. We do not, however, want to go to this work if you have in mind carrying it out.
I should also be interested to know whether or not you plan to attack carbon monoxide in the same way.
Finally, I should be grateful to you for your comments on my paper on "A Theory of Ferromagnetism". It seems to me to be a good theory, and if you have some objections to it, I should like to know what they are, in order that I might think more about them.
One of the young men in the laboratory here has carried out a refinement of the theory, involving a concentration of the wave functions on to the atoms with favorably oriented spins, and away from the atoms with unfavorably oriented spins, with results in somewhat bettor agreement with the experimental values for the Curie temperatures than given by the simple theory.
With best regards, I am
Sincerely yours,

- Letter from LP to his sister, Pauline Ney RE: LP writes Pauline to give her information which he thinks may be important to her. He goes on to describe the exact measurements of his foot in relation to the dimensions of the two pairs of Paddies [a slipper company developed by Pauline] that she had recently given him.
- Telegram from LP to M.S. Sundaram, Embassy of India RE: having scheduling trouble with getting to India. Inquires whether it would be satisfactory to arrive on the first or second of January 1954. [Related letter from LP to Sundaram May 13, 1953
