18 Sept 1953
Dear Daddy.
The college has given me a letter for the Home Office so I can stay in this country saying they will let me stay until Dec. 15th. I have heard both from the master & from J.C. Burkill that they expect an answer to that letter he sent you. I have no idea what they want you to say. Seems pretty funny to me. Anyway, I guess you should ask John Kendrew what you ought to say & send them something. I am sorry to trouble you like this.

I think John will tell you. I just talked to Senior Tutor, Mr. Wormald. Nice fellow. I think things will go better. I wish the college would say what they did not like.
Much love
Peter
