- Letter from Lewis Pino to LP, RE: Pino regrets to inform LP that the income to support the Phi Beta Kappa lecture series is not as great as previously anticipated. Pino had previously suggested that Allegheny College would be able to offer LP $300 plus travel expenses; now Pino notes that LP will only be offered $300 and not travel expenses. Pino hopes that LP will still want to speak at Allegheny College. 20 August 1953
Dear Mamma,
I am back.
I am rather sad about the fire. I hope the trees do not die.
Thank you for your letters and the forwarded ones. I do not really wish to buy an Ampex
at the moment but might like to see the literature. Some other radio literature ought to come that
might be interesting.
Linda seems to be doing very well, working quite hard. We do not communicate much.
She seems to think everyone is worrying terribly about her. Sid Bernhard is serving as liaison.
She evidently plans to come home. I told Sid to tell her we had all given up hope and had too
much else to worry about. (Not quite did I tell him this, but about). If you want a Quad I shall
send it. I think I shall have a quite nice flat next year. It is very hot and nice here now.
love,
Peter
