Guggnomorra
Dear Family,
Made it: after much prodding of Alex. We arrived in Washington Thursday, after having
spent a night with V. Schomaker and family in Oak Ridge. Saw Jurg Wases. Friday, M.
Robertson and I drove to Princeton and then to Long Island, near Brookhaven. Yesterday We
returned to New York, and Mariette drove back to Princeton. I guess the Mirsky's are out of
town. I finally found a friend named Allen Maddens to stay with. Here I am with Henry Allen
Moe. Today we go to Springfield with Jane King. Moe is fine, he looks good; his son is in
Japan, in the navy.
I am not yet sure how I shall get back, but I guess it won't be a trip of sin. Probably
leave Thursday.
Friedman has Dacron suits. I must get one, but can't now. I shall have to return to New
York with some money. I want to buy records, too. Sid has a place where you can get 40
records almost for $100. I shall visit David Shoemaker, I guess.
Damn, I wish Alex were not so slow. I want to get to Wellesley.
Much love,
Peter
