to some of your friends in the committee- say Brack and Oppenheimer (Taylor, I take it is hopeless) and asking in a pleasant
way the reason for their decision- I think it might have a salutory effect. I am going to get a number of people to do likewise.
If they suspect the truth is getting out they may change their minds. You could have a good excuse for asking because you
sponsored me for the fellowship and its natural you should be interested. You maybe suggest that I implied political discrimination
