Dear Des:
Thanks for your letter of February 15. I am glad to see that you have verified the original value of the c axis for eta-bronze. We have been looking at the crystals on hand, to see if we could find one of the first sort, but without success - all of those that we have investigated seem to have a 47 Angstrom c axis, although there are some faint spots that suggest the presence of the 38 Angstrom material.
Dr. Shoemaker will send you under separate cover a 47 Angstrom crystal. Could you send us one of the 38 Angstrom variants?
I think that we know the structures of both modifications.
I am continuing with my program of agitation about the hydrogen bomb.
Best wishes to you.
Sincerely yours.
