Dr. R. C. Menzies
Department of Chemistry
Mid-Essex Technical College
Chelmsford, England
Dear Dr. Menzies:
I have been interested to read your article with Dr. Lile in the last issue of the Journal about complex formation by the trimethyl platinic group.
In the article you refer to the structure investigation of trimethyl platinum chloride by J. H. Sturdivant and R. E. Rundle, referred to in my book. The investigation of this substance and of platinum tetramethyl was completed a number of years ago by Dr. Rundle and Professor Sturdivant, and a detailed account of the results was published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, 69, 1561 (1947).
Sincerely yours,
