Dear Dr. Lu:
I was interested to learn about the work that you are doing from your letter of June 9, and to know that your draft deferment problem seems to be pretty well taken care of.
I am sure that the field of the normal vibrations of molecules such as cyclohexane is still a very good one to work in, and that interesting results can be obtained.
Professor Dickinson is getting along very well. He is regaining strength rapidly, and should be ready in a couple of weeks for his final operation. Everyone else in the laboratory is in good shape. Some of the younger people are getting engaged and married, mainly to girls who are working on projects here.
