Dear Dr. Beard:
About a year ago the Lederle Laboratories kindly provided us with about 500 cc. of a concentrated Type I anti-pneumococcus rabbit serum. In connection with a special problem in which I am interested, I would be very grateful to you for providing me with the answers to the following questions:
1. How much of this concentrated type I anti-pneumococcus rabbit serum would you have on hand, and would it be possible for it to be purchased, in case that it were needed?
2. What other types of anti-pneumococcus serum do you have, and in what quantities?
3. In case that a considerable supply of these sera is not available at present, could the Lederle Laboratories prepare it on order?
With best personal regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
