Dear Dr. Hanson:
I send herewith a set of photographs of men, apparatus, and the laboratories connected with work done under the Rockefeller Grant for Bio-Organic Chemistry and Immunochemistry at the California Institute of Technology. I am not too well satisfied with these photographs; we hired a professional photographer to make them, but I am afraid that he is not first-rate.
Descriptions of the photographs are given on the following page and are also pasted on the backs of the photographs.
I am going to try to find another photographer and see if a better job can be done. Since this may not lead to anything, I am sending the present pictures anyway.
I thank you for arranging for permission for us to use part of our immunochemistry grant for the construction of animal quarters.
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
