Professor Max von Laue
University of Berlin
Berlin, Germany
Dear Professor von Laue:
I was very pleased to receive a copy of your new book "Röntgenstrahl-Interferenzen", and I thank you sincerely for having it sent to me. It seems to me to be an excellent book, which should be useful to our advanced students. Professor Sturdivant and I have just finished giving an advanced course on x-rays and crystal structure. We had difficulty in finding a suitable text, and finally made use of our own notes. If your book had been available to us it would, I think, have been satisfactory for our use.
With best regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
