Dear Maury:
I am sorry to learn that Niggli has resigned his editorship of the Zeitschrift. I feel, however, and Sturdivant and Corey agree with me, that there is no need for a new journal to be started. It seems to me that our publication problems are satisfactorily taken care of, for the time being at any rate, by the Journal of the America Chemical Society, Journal of Chemical Physics, Physical Review, and American Mineralogist, and other available journals.
With best regards, I am
Sincerely yours,
Linus Pauling
