Dr. Denis L. Fox
The Scripps Institution of Oceanography
La Jolla, California
Dear Dr. Fox:
I am glad to say that the report -which you heard is correct. Professor Zechmeister has been appointed Professor of Organic Chemistry here, and will take up residence about January 1. He will, of course, continue his work on carotenoids and related substances, and he will present during the first term a course of lectures on the chemistry of carotenoids.
I shall look forward to seeing you when you come to Pasadena, and also to visiting you again at the Scripps Institution some time.
Sincerely yours,
