Dear Dr. Pauling:
I have the pleasure in informing you that the Board of Trustees, on the recommendation of the Committee of Selection,
today approved the renewal of your Fellowship in the following terms:
“For the continuation of certain theoretical and experimental researches into the topology of the interior of the atom; renewal
of fellowship for a period approximating six months from March 1, 1927; stipend, two thousand dollars ($2000.), of which amount
the sum of three hundred fifty dollars ($350.) is payable by the Treasurer’s check to be deposited for Dr. Pauling’s account
in the Pacific Trust and Savings Bank, Oak Knoll Branch, Pasadena, California, and the balance, sixteen hundred fifty dollars
($1650.), is payable in one sum by letter of credit.”
I shall make the necessary financial arrangements with the Treasurer.
