Dr. James B. Conant,
Harvard University,
Cambridge, Mass.
Dear Conant:
I am grateful to you for recommending Sheland. He is a very able man in mathematics and quantum mechanics, only one of
my men being his equal.
We are just completing a quantitative treatment of free radicals, which gives pretty accurate dissociation energies, with
- naphthyl better than with
- naphtyl, etc. It is really nice stuff - more than I had hoped for. I've written Lamb asking_ if he would publish our
papers as rapidly as he does yours! If so, they may be in the May Journal.
Are you coming to Chicago in June? I'd like to see you. Best wishes.
Sincerely,
LP:M
