October ninth nineteen fifty-one
I have your letter of October 5. I shall arrange for one of our residents at the Hospital to see if it would be possible
to employ your suggestions in the use of carbon monoxide in a group of patients, as well as sodium nitrite, in another, in
the management of some of our sickle cell patients. I have thought about the suggestion which you made several months ago
and really have not had the opportunity of following it through.
We have not been sending any sickle cell blood recently, as we were not certain that you wished to have the shipments continued.
If you do, we shall be very happy to arrange this as we have in the past.
Vivian and I certainly enjoyed reading about your life and thought it was well done. Best regards.
