Dear Doctor Pauling,
I am thinking of preparing a new edition of my little book on serology. As I mentioned to you, I should like very much [handwritten:
"a few pages"] to insert a brief section written by you discussing in general the forces that act between molecules and, in
particular, those [handwritten: "possibly"] operative in the reactions of antibodies and antigens. Such a theoretical exposition
by an authority would certainly be of great interest and value for the readers.
Of course you should consider this request only if it is not unpleasant or inconvenient to you.
I am, with best regards and wishes,
Yours very sincerely
