Find Items on Reserve

Example: Ogden, Linda

Course reserves are held behind the Circulation desk on the second floor of the Valley Library and are available for checkout during regular library hours.

  • Reserve materials are available on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be recalled or held for specific patrons. Course reserves are designed to be available for quick reference and use to all students. As such, they do not renew. Patrons wishing to use the same material more than once in a day must wait an hour in between checkouts to allow other patrons access to the materials.
  • Checkout periods for course reserves range from 2 hours to 1 week at the instructor’s discretion. Hourly circulating items can be checked out overnight if they are checked out within 2 hours of the library’s closing time, and will be due back 1 hour after opening.
  • Course reserve items must be returned on time at either of the two book drops located on the 2nd floor in order to avoid late fines. See the Fines & Charges section for additional information on late charges.
  • Most items are placed on reserve at the request of OSU instructors. The course reserve program is voluntary and course materials will only be available for those classes that have been added by instructors. Items placed on reserve commonly include sample tests, homework solutions, texts, videos, and other materials to supplement classroom instruction. Items will remain on reserve until the corresponding class is over for the term, or until the instructor asks to have the material removed.
