Place Items on Reserve (Instructors Only)
- Reserve requests can take up to a week to process. Please plan accordingly. If you would like to have materials available to students on the first week of class, submit the request at least one week prior to the start of the term. E-mail notification will be sent when items are available for circulation.
- The library is not responsible for any lost or damaged items placed on reserve.
- Due to space limitations, only 5 copies of a single item are allowed on reserve at the same time. Library books that are checked out when a reserve request is submitted will be recalled and placed on reserve as soon as they are returned to the library.
- Most course reserve items are allowed to leave the library during their assigned loan period. However, instructors may request their reserve items be In Library Use Only. Hourly circulating items not designated as In Library Use Only may be checked out overnight if they are checked out within 2 hours of the library’s closing time, and will be due back 1 hour after opening on the next day the library is open.
Copyright Compliance
All materials placed on reserve must conform to copyright law. A signature is required to show copyright compliance and instructors assume legal responsibility for all copyrighted items held on reserve for their courses. For specific inquiries or for further clarification of copyright law, please contact OSU's Copyright Center. Forms for placing photocopied materials on reserve are available at the circulation desk or are downloadable here.
