OSU signs Berlin Declaration on Open Access

Oregon State University joined more than 300 leading international research, scientific, and cultural institutions last week when Provost Sabah Randhawa signed the Berlin Declaration. Recognizing that the Internet has changed the way knowledge and information is disseminated, the Berlin Declaration calls for open access to knowledge in the humanities and the sciences. By becoming a signatory, OSU aligns itself with a growing number of North American institutions of higher education committed to a vision of globally interactive and accessible scholarly communication. This is the last day of the Berlin 9 Open Access Conference and this year is the first time North American university officials and researchers have had a chance to host and shape the program.
