Adding library content to your Blackboard sites is a convenient way to point students toward the library resources they need to find credible, scholarly information. Cell phones in the library

Please turn off your ringer in the library, and go outside or use a group study room to have a conversation on your phone. Please do not move to the rotunda as it amplifies noises.

Articles are found by searching article databases.

For articles in hard-copy journals in Corvallis, request a copy of the article via the library's catalog.

Check the e-journal list to search individual electronic journal titles (not best for general article searches.)

To request articles from journals to which OSU does not subscribe, use Interlibrary Loan.

Use the COCC/Cascades Campus catalog to find books and videos available locally.

Use the full OSU catalog to find books and videos available locally as well as books and videos that can be quickly delivered to the Cascades Campus from other OSU libraries.

Use Summit to borrow books and videos from academic libraries in Oregon and Washington that will be quickly delivered to the Cascades Campus.

The primary purpose of Cascades' collection is to support the research, teaching, and learning of the Cascades Campus community.

Students: to suggest materials please discuss the item(s) with the faculty member who teaches the course or heads the program the item(s) would support.

Faculty and staff: to request purchase of materials please contact Maureen Kelly.

Check Summit to borrow items from other libraries.

Check your due dates and renew items

Loan periods apply to most items, always check your reciept for individual due dates. Some items are subject to recall before original due date if needed by another library user.

General collection

Undergraduate Students: 21 days, 3 renewals

Staff: 30 days, 3 renewals

Graduate Students: 90 days, 3 renewals

Faculty: up to 6 months, 1 renewal

Movies

3-7 days, no renewals

Building Accessibility

The library was built in 1996 and has automatic doors, an elevator to all floors, wheelchair-accessible stalls in all bathrooms, and an accessible public computer station. For assistance obtaining materials on high shelves please ask at the reference or circulation desks and someone will be happy to help you.

Software

All public workstations have the standard Windows XP accessibility software.
