OSU Libraries’ Library Faculty Association is pleased to invite you to the February Library Faculty Association Seminar Series. Jane Nichols, Digital Humanities and Collection Development Librarian at OSULP and John Russell, Scholarly Communications Librarian at University of Oregon will present “Digital Humanities: Initiating Efforts”
Summary: The rise of Digital Humanities (DH) has captured academe’s attention, presenting scholars and librarians with new opportunities for teaching and research. Some institutions have responded by establishing centers, while others are just beginning to consider roles and activities they will take. This seminar will outline what is meant by DH; briefly share OSU faculty and graduate student interest in DH; discuss initial efforts at OSU and UO and consider future roles and activities libraries can play in this dynamic arena on campus. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of Digital Humanities and options for engagement. Please join us!
When: Friday, February 14, 2014, Time: 10:00-11:30 a.m.
Where: Valley Library 3622, Willamette Industries Seminar Rooms, Oregon State University, Corvallis campus. (http://osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/visit)
