organization :: indexing
In
order to access information, you need to know how information is indexed.
This is true for both electronic research databases or in printed materials.
Internet sources usually are not indexed; however, some mega websites
allow you to search by subjects or author names. For example, a plant-related
mega website may allow you to search by scientific or common names of
plants or sometimes can be by geographic location. It all depends on how
the information is indexed.
The most common search fields to be indexed are:
1. Subject
2. Author
3. Title
4. Keywords
