OSU ILL Services for Remote Users
The following materials may be requested from the OSU libraries:
I. Books may be requested by using the OSU Libraries Catalog [http://oasis.oregonstate.edu] catalog to first locate the desired item, then by using the Request button to order delivery. For in-depth instructions, consult: http://osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/offcampus/oasis.htm .
What if I can´t find the book I´m looking for?
- If the OSU Libraries do not own a copy of a desired title (or if the library´s copy has been checked out), try using the Summit catalog for the Orbis/Cascade Alliance Libraries. OSU belongs to the Orbis/Cascade Alliance which is a consortium of Oregon and Washington college and university libraries. Most library materials (except current journals) that are not available at the OSU libraries, may be requested online by using Summit´s built-in request forms. - If neither OSU Libraries Catalog nor Summit have the desired title, the OSU Libraries Interlibrary Loan office will try to obtain it from a cooperating library. To get materials, use OSU ILL to request.
II. Journal and Magazine articles may be requested by first using OSU Libraries Catalog to locate a desired journal or magazine title, then by using the Request function to order delivery. In-depth instructions may be found at http://osulibrary.oregonstate.edu/offcampus/journreq.htm .
What if I can´t locate the journal/magazine that I´m looking for?
- If the OSU libraries do not subscribe to a particular title, use online OSU ILL to request a desired article or journal volume.
III. Other Materials not found within OSU Libraries Catalog or Summit may be requested by OSU students/staff/faculty. Specific types of materials (like bound journals, for example), may have restrictions placed upon their borrowing or loan period. You will be notified when such materials are not available for borrowing or when a shortened loan period is placed upon them.
