The late Joel W. Hedgpeth was a multi-talented phenomenon: marine biologist, taxonomist, ecologist, historian, educator, environmental activist, scientific illustrator, author, editor, mentor, and wit.

He headed the Yaquina Biological Laboratory at OSU's Marine Science Center from 1965 until his retirement in 1973.

This exhibit highlights some of his extraordinary career.
