Guin Art Collection

The Guin Library has an extensive art collection purchased through gifts. The building was funded by federal grants rather than state monies so there was no mandates 1% for Art in the budget. Nevertheless, generous supporters raised funds for the library furnishings and equipment with funds left over for art. The first pieces were purchased through a juried process in 1990. These include Frank Boyden's marvelous ceramic platter with the chinook salmon head in the Library's entry. Other pieces have been donated over the years inlcuding the installation created and donated by Jackie Niemi in the Seminar Room hallway.
