AbstractThe author ponders on the lessons she learned being a distance education librarian as well as a distance education students. She emphasizes that it is important not to assume that students are reading their university electronic mail messages regularly. She stresses that librarians should be market smart by making messages short and available in different venues. She recommends the utilization of local information resources. She suggests making experiences aid librarians in order to connect to students.
