Civility Campaign at OSU Libraries
"It’s too much to expect in an academic setting that we should all agree, but it’s not too much to expect discipline and unvarying civility."
- John Howard, Australian statesman
OSU Valley Library is the research center on the Oregon State University Corvallis campus. The library was built to host independent and collaborative research by the diverse members of our campus and our surrounding community. The library continually strives to provide the services and spaces our users’ need in order to be successful in their academic pursuits.
Because the library is shared among a growing student population, it is a good time to remind ourselves to practice civility. Treat others as you would want to be treated, check rude behavior at the door, and be patient when sharing limited resources with others.
The library has created a committee to find creative ways to remind ourselves and emphasize the importance of choosing civility. The links to the right will describe these events in more detail. If you have suggestions for other ways to promote civility, please contact Kerri Goergen-Doll by email at kerri [dot] goergen-doll [at] oregonstate [dot] edu (Kerri [dot] Goergen-Doll [at] Oregonstate [dot] edu.)
