For books not available at OSU Libraries, check the Summit Catalog. Summit allows current OSU students, faculty, and staff to borrow books and media from other academic libraries in Oregon and Washington. The loan period is 6 weeks for books and 6 days for media, with no renewals.

You'll receive an email notice when the item you requested arrives. At Valley Library, items are ready for pickup at Circulation at 6pm on the day the item arrives. The item due dates will appear on the receipt you are given at check out. You are also able to view your due dates for Summit items by viewing your library account. It is important for the label or book band to remain on the item until it is returned, to ensure proper processing.
For more information about Summit, visit the Summit website: http://orbiscascade.org/index/borrowing-materials-from-member-libraries
In order to pickup items requested through Summit at an institution other than your own, you must first be added to that library's patron database as a Visiting Summit patron. When you login to make your Summit request, select the name of the institution where you will pick up your items. Login with the ID number of your home institution. For example, to pick up books at UO, you'd be added to the UO database, select UO as your institution when requesting, login with your OSU ID number, select your location to pick up items at the UO, then wait for an email notice that your items have arrived and are ready for pickup at that location.
To be added to another University library's database:
Visit the library where you would like to pick up your Summit items. Present your OSU ID card. You will be asked to login to your OSU library record on your home library website to verify your status at OSU. Your name and ID number will be added to that library's database as a Visiting Summit patron.
Once your information has been forwarded to the library's database at OCLC, where Summit requests are processed, you will be able to make Summit requests by selecting that institution's name, which will enable you to pick up items at that library. This schedule varies by library; please ask staff at the library where you will be picking up how long it will be before you can begin making requests to pick up at that location.
