OSC Alumnus Douglas Engelbart, 1987.   The computer mouse got it's tail from Oregon State College grad Douglas Engelbart, who is being honored this week as a part of a computing and philosophy conference at OSU. Graduating in 1948 in electrical engineering, Engelbart went on to work for NASA and the Stanford Research Institute, where he helped to develop key computer technologies and applications in daily usage today. Here, Engelbart is pictured accepting the E. B. Lemon Award from an OSU Alumni Association meeting in 1987. [OSU Archives: P 195: 93:086]
