Scope and Content
These records were generated and collected by the Department of Facilities
Services and pertain to the maintenance, construction, and renovation of various
OSU buildings and structures.
The records have been organized into these series: II. Building Project Files;
III. Building Specifications and Reports; IV. Capital Construction Project Records;
V. Facilities Planning and Use Committee Records; VI. General Construction Files;
VII. Minor Building Modification Files; and VIII. General Subject Numbered Files.
The building project files document the construction, renovation, and maintenance
of various OSU buildings and include architectural drawings, building specifications,
contracts, correspondence, project manuals, and progress reports. Structural repair
and maintenance projects are also described in this series and cover insulation installation,
re-roofing, and HVAC system management.
Series III consists of building specifications and reports which document the construction
and renovation of various OSU buildings and structures. Studies regarding campus traffic
flow and building accessibility for the disabled can also be found in this series as
well as reports generated by the City of Corvallis on planning projects in and around the
campus region.
Pertaining to building construction projects budgeted for $100,000 or more, the
capital construction project records contain bid documentation, correspondence,
memoranda, photographs, as well as meeting minutes from the Oregon State System
of Higher Education (OSSHE) Building Committee. The coordination of building
construction and renovation projects as documented by the Facilities Planning and
Use Committee and other administrative bodies in Facilities Services can be found
in series V, which contains architectural drawings, correspondence, meeting minutes,
memoranda, project proposals, and reports.
Series VI relates to the design and construction of Bates Hall and the Forest Ecosystem
Research Laboratory and consists of architectural drawings, book plans, budgetary records,
correspondence, memoranda, notes, and reports.
The minor building modification files document building repair and maintenance
projects are organized alphabetically by building.
In addition to building maintenance and renovation projects, the general subject
files also document various aspects of the daily management of campus structures
including topics such as energy consumption and conservation, sewage services,
custodial services, water supply, and HVAC system maintenance. Included in this
series are contract records, correspondence, and reports.
Processing Note
At this time, only preliminary processing of the records in this accession has
been undertaken. There is currently not a fully completed finding aid or inventory
for RG 193.
