Scope Content and Note

Organized into eight series: I. Course Revision Committee; II. Catalogs Preparation; III. Curriculum Committee Minutes; IV. Delmer Goode File; V. Proposed Course Changes; VI. Curricular Adjustments; VII. Curricular Requests (categories I & II); VIII. Curriculum Coordination Correspondence and Reports. All series except IV. are arranged chronologically.

Materials relate to the development and changes in the curriculum of the university, including course proposals from departments, the Curriculum Council, and by the University to the Chancellor and State Board of Higher Education. The Delmer Goode File documents the controversy between the University of Oregon and Oregon State University regarding classes to be taught by each institution. Most records are on microfilm; paper records consist of Curriculum Committee Minutes for 1972-1978; Proposed Course Changes, 1966-67; some Curricular Request material, 1962-1975; and all of series VIII.

Historical Note

The Curriculum Coordination Office, established in 1971, had been previously known as the Council on Curriculum and Academic Policy.
