Summary: The Research Accounting Records document the administration of funds from non-university sources for research projects at Oregon State University. The Research Accounting Office was established at Oregon State University in 1982.

Content Description

These records were generated by the Research Accounting Office and document the administration of funds for research projects from non-university sources. Records from the Oregon State System Higher Education (OSSHE) that document non-university project funds awarded prior to the establishment the Research Accounting Office in 1982 are also included in this record group.

The funded grant proposal records document research projects funded by non-University sources and constitute the bulk of the Research Accounting records. Included in this series are proposals, budgets, correspondence, contract agreements, sub-contracts, and,in some cases, final reports. The records in Series I are arranged by accession, within accession alphabetically by granting agency, and thereunder alphabetically by last name of principle investigator. The sub-contracts, which are arranged alphabetically within accession by sub-contractor, include agreements between OSU and other universities and organizations to provide services funded by a non-University source and include proposals, budgets, correspondence, and related documentation. The accounts receivable master listing for 1989 includes principal investigator, account number, department, duration of account, and amount.

The monthly schedules in series V contain information on grants from non-university sources received by OSU and compiled in monthly reports by the Oregon State System of Higher Education (OSSHE) from 1979 to 1981, and later, the OSU Research Accounting Office for 1982-1989. Series VI consists of records generated by OSSHE that document research projects funded by non-University sources prior to 1982. The records in this series, which include correspondence, curricula vitae, contracts, agreements, reports, and grant proposals, document similar information to the funded grant proposal records in series I, and were generated prior to the establishment of the Research Accouting Office at OSU.
