Publications

Almost all publications (def) produced by the University and its offices, departments, and affiliated organizations are routinely acquired by the Archives. These include catalogs, newsletters, brochures, bulletins, student publications such as the Beaver yearbook and Barometer student newspaper, directories, faculty and student handbooks, schedules of classes, OSU Press monographs and series, and selected Extension Service and Experiment Station publications. The Archives' holdings include about 500 series (PUB groups) of continuing and inactive publications.

Reprints of journal publications are not retained by the Archives as publications. Newsletters, flyers, and meeting announcements published by county Extension offices are not retained by the Archives and should be kept permanently by the creating office.

Publications Records

Now you can do an electronic search to search the University Publications. The search will give you a listing of Finding Aids (collection descriptions, series outlines, inventories) relevant to the subject requested. Click on a link, and then do a search on that page. In Netscape, click on the "Edit" menu and then to "Find" in the pull-down menu; you will again need to type in the subject you are searching. Click on "Find Next," the cursor will stop at your subject if it is found in the document.
