Summary of Duplication and Use Charges

Commercial Use Fees

Commercial users of archival materials are charged publication fees as given on the Permission Form. These fees are not applicable to Oregon University System institutions, non-profit organizations, individuals, or commercial contractors producing materials for Oregon State University.

Duplication Fees

Prepayment is required on all orders of $10 or more.

The University Archives provides photocopy and scanning services for a fee, but reserves the right to restrict reproduction of its materials due to donor agreements, copyright restrictions, condition, value, and size.

Photocopy

The University Archives will photocopy materials for patrons. Please the list immediately below for fees:

• Standard (letter or legal size) Staff copying = $0.25 per copy
• Oversize (11x17, Staff copying only) = $0.50 per copy

Scanning

Materials can be scanned for patrons. Patrons are required to pay the cost of any copy negatives that must be made, and the negatives are retained by the Archives. Scans will be available for pick-up in the Archives within 7 business days. For orders that are to be mailed, please allow 2-3 additional business days for arrival. With special permission of the University Archivist and as staff time allows, "rush" orders may be accepted for an additional per-item charge plus a $20 rush fee. University accounts can be billed directly. Please the list immediately below for fees:

• High-resolution scan = $5.00 per scan [600 dpi TIFF saved to CD or downloaded from ContentDm]
• From Microforms = $1.00 per scan

The University Archives charges a$10 per order service fee for scanning orders, this includes standard mailing charges. This fee is waived for charges to OSU or OUS accounts. The service fee is NOT applied to photocopy orders

Mailing Fee (applied when service fee is waived)

• $2.50 per standard mailing
• Actual cost for express mailing or large packages

Fax Fee

• $5 per fax

Printing from Microfilm or Microfiche (letter size only)

• Staff printing =  $0.25 per print
• Self-service printing =  $0.07 per print

Duplication of Moving Images: Detailed estimates for reproduction of moving images (videotapes or motion picture films) are provided on a case-by-case basis. The approximate costs for these services are:

• $25 minimum for reproduction from a duplication master

• $50 minimum for production of a duplication master and use copy from a videotape

• $100 minimum for production of a duplication master and use copy from a film

Duplication of Sound Recordings: Detailed estimates for reproduction of sound recordings are provided on a case-by-case basis. The approximate cost for duplication of sound recordings is $25 per hour of sound studio time to complete the project.
