General Instructions for Using Microfilm
-
Flip the power switch on the right side of the machine and make
sure the lower display reads "roll." If it reads "Fich," push in
gray fiche tray to the right and back until it clicks. Display should
now read "roll."
-
Check film width (16 mm or 35 mm). Most will be 35 mm. Change
setting accordingly by moving the tab on the left side of the lower
display.
-
Load reel by placing on the metal spool on the left side of the
machine. Push reel as far back as it can go. Film should feed clockwise
through top of reel.
-
Push green button. Black gate should pop up. Thread film through
the green track until you can see it on the screen. Continue feeding
film through track a couple more inches and then close the black
gate.
-
Press "load" button by lower display (if the film doesn't load,
try feeding the film further through the track and pressing the
button again)
-
Viewing the film:
a. Scan through the reel by turning the knob to the right to go
"forward" or to the left to "reverse."
b. The SCAN lever can be used to scan in the opposite direction
that the forward/reverse knob allows.
c. The image can be rotated by turning the smaller knob near
the bottom of the screen.
d. The blue and gray "gears" located on top of the lens can
be used to zoom and focus an image.
-
See "How to Print" for printing instructions.
-
When done with reel, press the "rewind" button by the lower display.
Take reel off spool, put in box, and place on the cart to be refiled.
