1. Finalization of Disaster Plan :
- The committee finalized the Disaster Plan and Penny prepared copies in manual form for library administrators
- Recommended that the plan be accessible to the public. Bryan will ask those with home phone numbers listed for permission to do this.
- A brief celebration was conducted with Penny's cookies and Lorraine giving out umbrellas for a job well done.
2. Member Changes
- Valery will be leaving the committee (thanks Valery). Laurel will continue representing Reference and Penny will represent the 4th floor, non-library departments.
3. Review of Action Items
- All action items were finished from the last meeting except obtaining a copy of the Guin disaster plan and the purchase of another 2-way radio (both will be done soon)
4. Code of Conduct
- Access Services supported the creation of a library Code of Conduct (Laurel was not present to share Reference views).
- Bryan will begin creating a draft for review which will be completed by the next meeting
5. Training Library Staff
- The committee feels that a safety training manual for staff is desirable but will wait for the code of conduct to base the manual on.
6. Food & Drink Committee
- Faye asked about where the Food & Drink Committee is at this point. It was recommended that this issue be given to the Preservation Committee.
- Noted that previous committees tried many things to improve food & drink in the library.
7. Action Items
- Bryan will ask staff listed in the Disaster Plan for permission to place home phone numbers on the public web
- Lorraine will seek a copy of the Guin Disaster Plan
- Bryan will purchase 2 flashlights of better quality for the Circ and Ref desks
- Faye will purchase 1 2-way radio to replace one that was stolen
- Bryan will create a Code of Conduct draft for the library building
- Faye will speak to Catherine about moving Food & Drink responsibility to the Preservation Committee
Next meeting will be Dec. 12.
